UX/UI Lead Designer
The Mall Auckland Airport (Contract) 2017 – 2019

The Mall is Auckland Airport's online shopping experience. I worked along side the product owner and development team to create an omni-channel eCommerce site offering online shopping to international travellers. We partnered with the Airport's most popular retailers to provide travellers with the ability to shop leading international and local brands online ahead of international or domestic travel, with easy pick up at the airport. I enjoyed balancing customer, business and technical requirements to produce a carefully considered eCommerce outcome.

Freelance Digital & Graphic Designer
Self-employed 2015 - 2017

I work fluidly across web and print to create successful and relevant design solutions. With an appreciation of the functionality in design, I produce results driven creative that is carefully considered from all points of view. I love the collaborative nature of design, revel in a challenge and I am tenacious when it comes to problem solving with a creative approach. I have translated my early work in magazines into a strong knowledge of UX/UI design and find this user centric practice is where my strengths are. Over the last couple of years I have worked with a variety of clients and design studios, taking new knowledge from each one.

Digital Designer
Number One Shoes 2014 - 2015

In this role I was responsible for creating digital ad banners, eDM's, website assets, social media content and all other supporting digital media. This required me to work quickly, styling and photographing shoes to create imagery for use in many small digital campaigns that were rolled out on tight deadlines responding, quickly to what is happening in the market. Daily work included creating artwork to support online or in-store promotions. Long term projects included the re-design of the website homepage for both desktop and mobile, creating user interface solutions for new 'Click & Collect' delivery feature as well as developing social media content and strategies.

Art Director
Ziggy Denim 2012

My role here included producing and art directing campaign and look book shoots for each season, compiling extensive ‘sales books’ for each range, creating online marketing/social media content and contributing to a marketing and public relations strategy. Working for Ziggy Denim was fasted paced and full on. The brand has a small team backing it and it is expanding hugely with sales increasing twofold in six months. I was required to work quickly and creatively across both print and digital carefully managing both a junior designer and my own time.

Graphic Designer
Sunday Star Times, Fairfax Media 2011

I was hired to undertake a full re-brand of the collection of seven seasonal Newspaper Inserted Magazines (NIMs) carried by Sunday Star-Times. It was important to introduce a high level of design integrity to these advertising features to drive customer engagement and subsequent advertiser satisfaction.

Graphic Designer
NZ Marketing Magazine, Tangible Media 2010

The aim of our redesign project on this trade magazine was to raise the standard of design to a level competitive with consumer magazines. Taking into consideration that there was very minimal photography – no budget – and a short turnaround time on design, I created a template that was easy for other designers to work from and created interest within the typography.

Graphic Designer
Groove Guide, Tangible Media 2010 - 2011

As the designer of this music and culture street press magazine; myself, the Editor and the Advertising Manager were solely responsible for delivering full creative concept through to printing of this title every week. With four days to turnaround 32 pages of highly designed content I developed a strong ability to deliver both creatively and operationally without compromising either. Further I directed development of the magazine’s online presence increasing social media engagement by 400%. I completed 25 issues of this title.
